Public Safety/Community Education/Main Entry Project: Interior work ongoing. Window installation started this week. Site underground utility work ongoing. Periodic road closures may occur due to deliveries and work adjacent to the road. Tomorrow, 12/15, the road at the west side of the new building will be closed. Pedestrians and Drivers need to follow closure signs and be cautious as they travel around the construction site. Trenching on the north side of the Nursing building started on Friday with the south work starting today. Access to the Health Center this week(12/14-12/18) will only be available from the north side. Main entry sign work to occur periodically. Closures may occur at the main exit during the sign work. Landscaping work at the main entrance bio-swales will be complete in the next few days.
Student Services Project: Access between the Forum2/Music building and the Old Library will be closed off on 12/21/15 for the duration of the project(End of 2017). No access will be available between Cosmetology and the Old Library until the end of January. The restrooms at the northeast corner of the Old Library are closed as well as the access road outside of the old MDF room between the Old Library and Fine Arts. Utility disconnect work ongoing at different locations within the fencing. Framed wall demo and debris removal ongoing. Today and tomorrow (12.14-12/15) semi trucks will be hauling off material using the primary access road north of the Student Center and a portion of Main Street. Fire alarm and electrical work between the Old Library and Fine Arts to take place this week (12/14-12/18). Piping insulation work on the roof of the Student Center taking place until tomorrow, 12/15/15. Installation of a sheet metal cover over the new pipes on the east side of the Student Center restroom building will take place on 12/16-12/18/15 of this week. Connection to the Central Plant has occurred. Additional equipment will be delivered to the site on Friday 12/18/15 in preparation for the building structural demolition. Pedestrians and Drivers need to follow closure signs and flagmen around the site.
Signage Project: Gothard sign work ongoing at the Gothard and Edinger marquees as well as the parking lot entry signs. Working with CVS and the required site logistics for the work at McFadden/Goldenwest to start.
Criminal Justice Project: The berm removal work was completed. Construction fencing will go up sometime in the Fall 2016 semester after the construction drawings are approved by the State.
General Construction Update:
Kaplan University Project: Fencing for this project was installed on Monday, 12/7. The road will remain open other than for some periodic closures for deliveries and utility work.
Boys & Girls Club Project: Multi-use gym is currently targeted to be complete by the end of January with the After school club building by the middle of March.
