Mary Ann Gaedig, a third semester GWC Nursing student, received the “Outstanding Student Member Award” at the California Student Nurses Association State Convention held in Irvine on October 21.
Over 600 students from all over California, including 23 Golden West College Nursing Students, attended the convention. The impressive number of GWC Nursing students in attendance was made possible through the fundraising efforts of Mary Ann Gaedig. Mary Ann has served as the CNSA Fundraising Director for over a year. She became an active member of CNSA as a pre-nursing student.
In attendance at the awards included Susan Bowman, PhD RN (CNSA Liaison for the American Nurses Association/California), Patricia McFarland MS RN FAAN (CEO Association of California Nurse Leaders) and Elissa Brown, MSN MPHCNS RN (President of the American Nurses Association California).
“The Golden West College School of Nursing received statewide recognition through the honor bestowed upon a truly outstanding nursing student,” remarked GWC/CNSA Faculty Advisor Deborah Goldstick, RN MSN.
