Einstein said “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” This quote was applied to Greg Wight recently by one of his students.
Greg proposed and created the Design program at GWC in 2002. The students in the Design program have had the opportunity to exhibit their work for review and recognition on campus and in the community. Many of his students have won regional, state and national competitions, awards and scholarships.
Greg’s hard work and determination, as well as his ability to foster a creative environment, consistently inspire and encourage his students. When there is a spark of an idea, Greg believes, encourages and supports. When something is difficult, Greg is a cheerleader.
One student wrote, “I have not only found a friend in Greg, but a mentor in design, and in life.” Congratulations, Greg!
