Cosmetology Alumnus is a Man of Style
Twenty-five years ago Richard Towle began his work at Salon Canvass as an assistant. Today, he is partner and owner and Salon Canvass has become one of the most successful businesses in Huntington Beach. This success is shared by Richard and his partners, Kevin McCauley and John Lantow, 2003 Alumni Pillar recipient, who have exhibited a sense of community with their support of others during difficult economic times. Beyond their business success, they have cultivated close relationships with many non-profit and charitable organizations such as Boys and Girls Club, Huntington Beach Youth Shelter, Cancer Society, Collette’s House and Aids Research. Richard is also a strong supporter of the Golden West College Foundation, never missing an opportunity to give back to the institution he feels was responsible for his success.
As a recognized Master Artist, Richard’s paintings are featured and sold in galleries in Orange and Los Angeles counties. But his friends will say that it is his love for his family and friends that most clearly defines Richard. He has helped many of his nieces and nephews to complete college and among them today are attorneys and doctors.
Golden West College is proud to claim the generous and stylish Richard P. Towle as a 2011 Alumni Pillar of Achievement recipient.
