An Evening of Formal Attire Supports an Afternoon of Caps and Gowns
Golden West College would like to thank community members and college staff for a very successful 2011 Gala. This year the event netted 26% over the previous year. More good news was that the winner of the loaded 2011 Toyota Tacoma, donated by Elmore Toyota, was a Golden West College student. When the student received the call he immediately came down to the Hilton to be congratulated by Elmore Toyota CEO, Judy Elmore, General Manager David McHowell, and Golden West College President, Wes Bryan.
The 14th annual Gala was held at the beautiful Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. Guests enjoyed dancing to the rocking music of Wayne Foster Entertainment. Gala Chair Bob Polentz stated, “I wish to thank the Gala Committee, the Foundation Board of Directors, and the student volunteers for their work to make Gala 2011 a successful event. We also thank all of our sponsors with a special thanks to the event’s title sponsor, Elmore Toyota, for their continuing support and generous donation of the Tacoma.”
Proceeds from the event will go to support student scholarships and campus projects that directly benefit students. The 15th Gala is scheduled for March, 24, 2012…get your dancing shoes ready!
