Cosplay Photo Exhibit Comes to the GWC Art Gallery

The Golden West College Art Gallery will open with COSPLAY-Capturing Characters Gallery on October 26 and will run until November 22.

The exhibit is a peek into the world of cosplayers, featuring Cosplay photography by BigWhiteBazooka, Cosplay in America, FiveRings, and International Photographer Showcase.

Cosplay is the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game, especially one from the Japanese genres of manga and anime. Cosplayers often interact to create a subculture, and a broader use of the term “cosplay” applies to any costumed role-playing in venues apart from the stage.

The gallery opens on Thursday, October 26, 4-7 p.m. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 28 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A photography workshop will be held on November 11, time to be determined.
